Sami Steigmann A Story of Survival and Hope
Join us for a powerful and inspiring Zoom webinar with Holocaust survivor Sami Steigmann as he shares his journey of survival, courage, and hope. Born in 1939 in what is now western Ukraine, Sami was imprisoned with his parents in the Mogilev-Podolsky labor camp in Transnistria, where he endured starvation, brutal conditions, and Nazi medical experimentation as a young child. Against overwhelming odds, he survived the Holocaust, later served in the Israeli Air Force, immigrated to the United States alone, and built a new life from the ground up.
Rather than allowing his past to define him, Sami chose to dedicate his life to educating others and inspiring future generations. Since 2008, he has spoken to more than 250,000 students and community members, sharing not only the horrors he endured but also the lessons he learned about courage, gratitude, compassion, and hope. This is a rare opportunity to hear firsthand testimony from a remarkable man whose story reminds us of the strength of the human spirit and the importance of never forgetting.
All ticket sales and donations raised will be donated to Project Ahava: Safe Independent Living for Sami, ensuring Sami has safe housing as he ages. For more information about Project Ahava, please visit the link above. All funds raised are placed in a restricted fund and used exclusively for Holocaust survivor housing.
