Know Your Rights: Understanding Antisemitism and the Law
Join us for an important discussion on the growing impact of antisemitism in schools, universities, and workplaces across the country. This webinar will examine how antisemitism manifests in educational and professional settings, the legal protections available to Jewish students and employees, and the tools that can be used to address discrimination and hold institutions accountable. Participants will gain a practical understanding of federal civil rights laws, including Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, followed by a live Q&A.
Presented by Joel Taubman, Staff Attorney at the Brandeis Center, where he works to advance the civil and human rights of the Jewish people and promote justice for all. Prior to joining the Brandeis Center, he served as an Assistant Attorney General in Virginia's Office of Civil Rights, led K-12 investigations, and served on the Attorney General's Antisemitism Task Force. Joel is also a board member of the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists and a graduate of The George Washington University Law School.
