The Chicago Jewish Alliance invites you to a special screening of Swing State(s) of Mind, a 45-minute documentary by Dr. Kobby Barda, a lecturer at the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) specializing in American political history and U.S.–Israel relations. Filmed across five swing states in the month leading up to the 2024 U.S. presidential election, the film follows Dr. Barda’s anthropological journey through small towns and big cities — from “soccer moms” on the sidelines to fiery political rallies and thoughtful conversations with professors, experts, and officials.

Weaving together dozens of voices, Swing State(s) of Mind captures America’s state of mind during a decisive moment when many believed Kamala Harris was poised for victory. Funded by the University of Pittsburgh and HIT, the film offers a rare, personal look at the people and perspectives shaping a divided nation.
